Nghe An
Nghệ An (Vietnamese: [ŋêˀ ʔaːn]) is a province in the North Central Coast region of Vietnam. It is Vietnam's largest province by area. Nghệ An is located in a central position in North Central Coast. To the east lies the Gulf of Tonkin; to the west the province is bordered by Laos; to the south Hà Tĩnh Province; and to the north is Thanh Hóa Province. It is located on the east–west economic corridor connecting Myanmar, Thailand, Laos and Vietnam along National Route 7 to the port of Cửa Lò.
Nghệ An has one city, three towns and 17 districts. Vinh is a grade one city, and is the economic and cultural center of the province, and of the whole North Central Coast.
Economy
Nghệ An is one of the few localities where the Politburo issued a separate resolution on economic and social development, namely Resolution 26. Nghệ An is known as a province with great industrial potential in Vietnam, producing cement, sugar, milk, white stones ... leading the country. The major industrial zones of the province are VSIP (15 km2), Hermaraj (30 km2), Nam Cam (4 km2), Dong Hoi.
In 2014, despite having many difficulties, Nghe An economy showed the signs of recovery. People's lives have been improved' the economic growth rate reached 7.24%, the food production reached 1.2 million tonnes; the industry production index increased by 13.31%, investment capital increased by 7.23%m the total retail sales rises 11%, social culture has positive changes; social order and safety is maintained. Gross domestic product of the province increased by 7.24% compared to the plan, in which agriculture, forestry, fishery increased by 3.85%, industry - construction rose 8.72%, service rose 8.22% year over year. The growth rate of 2014 was higher than that of 2 recent years and higher than the average rate of the country. GPD per capita reached 25 million/ people (2013 is 22.96 million/people). Agriculture, forestry and fishery production continue to grow stably. The total food production was estimated as more than 1.2 million tonnes, up 3.7% over the same period. The total production of farming and exploiting aquaculture achieved 144,545 tonnes, an increase of 10.52% over the same period. The production of industry and construction tend to regrow. The industry - construction production value in 2014 increased 9.68% over the 2013. Among them, the value of industrial production increased 13.53%.
The total retail sales of the whole country were estimated to reach at 34,654 billion dong increased 11% compared to 2013. The export turnover of the whole country was estimated to reach at 415.4 billion USD, increased 10.2% compared to 2013. Import turnover reached 3831 million USD, up 16.95% over 2013 Revenue from tourism services was estimated at 2185 million dong, up 15% over the same period. After international routes Vinh - Vientiane (Laos) was opened; Vinh Airport welcomed over 1 million passengers in 2014 and prepared to become an international airport. The total state budget revenue in 2014 was estimated at 7.400 billion dong (109.9% of the estimates, an increase of 16.7% in 2013).

They are further subdivided into 17 commune-level towns (or townlets), 431 communes, and 32 wards.
Vinh City
Vinh (Vietnamese: [viŋ̟]) is the biggest city and economic and cultural center of central Vietnam. Vinh is the capital of Nghệ An Province, and is a key point in the East–West economic corridor linking Myanmar, Thailand, Laos and Vietnam. The city is situated in the south-east of the province, alongside the Lam River (Song Lam) and is located on the main north-south transportation route of Vietnam, easily accessible by highway, railroad, boat and air. The recently expanded Vinh International Airport is served daily by three carriers: Vietnam Airlines, VietJet Air, and Jetstar Pacific. On September 5, 2008, it was upgraded from Grade-II city to Grade-I city, the fifth Grade-I city of Vietnam after Hai Phong, Đà Nẵng and Huế. Vinh is the most populous city in the North Central Coastal region, with over 490,000 residents (2015 estimate). The city is bordered by Nghi Loc district to the north and east, Hung Nguyen district to the west, and Nghi Xuan district in Hà Tĩnh Province to the south. Vinh is about 300 kilometres (190 mi) south of Hanoi and 1,400 kilometres (870 mi) north of Ho Chi Minh City. The total area of Vinh city is 104.97 square kilometres (40.53 sq mi), and includes 16 urban wards and 9 suburban communes.
The service sector comprises the largest part of Vinh's economy, with around 55% of the working population being employed in this area. This is followed by the industrial sector (around 30%) and the agriculture, forestry, and fishing sectors (around 15%). Vinh is an important transportation hub, having a key position on the route between the northern and southern parts of the country, and is also a notable port.
